With 690 runs and 51 wickets - including his first senior century, and five-wicket haul - Tom came of age in 2010. Having featured for the First Team in 2009, Tom subsequently commanded his place with several impressive performances.

Never shy of a word, primarily in self promtion, Tom is undoubtedly the long-term successor to James France, whose participation has been hampered, in recent years, by work commitments.

Unlike James, Tom is a right-handed cricketer, but is also capable of winning matches with bat and ball. Upon his appoinment as Sunday Team captain, Tom will be expected to shoulder added responsibility in 2012.
